Waldron WI Events

WI meetings : all at the Lucas Hall (unless otherwise stated) starting at 2.30 pm on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.


Dates of meetings and other events:

February 8th
Speaker : Eliza McClelland on A Woman for all Seasons (An entertaining and thought provoking address on the role of women in modern society). There will also be a table-top sale of books and recycled presents.

March 14th
Speaker : Chris O’Donaghue Behind the scenes at Chelsea (The process and challenges of becoming an exhibitor at the Chelsea Flower Show).

April 11th
Speaker : Dr Janet Pennington on Travel in the Past (The problems and pleasures of the journey).

May 9th
Lunch and Resolutions meeting

June 13th
Garden Party and raffle at Alison Bather’s home, The Old Farmhouse, Foxhunt Green, to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. In the Lucas Hall only if weather is poor.

July 11th
Speaker : Ian Everest on A Sussex Farm during the 1950s (Original and fascinating film footage of farming at Bishopstone)

August : no meeting but an outing may be arranged, venue TBA


September 12th
Speaker Dr Sheila Innes on More tales from the BBC

October 10th
Craft Day – an opportunity to try out some new skills

November 14th
Lunch and Annual Meeting

December 12th
Christmas Party with entertainment.


The WI also runs groups which meet regularly as follows :


Book Group 3rd Wednesday of the month at 2.30 pm
Walking Group Every Tuesday am
Lunch Group Last Friday of the month
Garden Group 4th Wednesday of the month 2.30 pm
