This site has been produced to enable those with internet access to be aware of events that are scheduled to take place in and around Waldron during the year.

Village Diary


19th January Wednesday
Wealden Rural Interests Group. Speaker Geoff Hutchinson as “A Benedictine Monk from Bygone Days” telling his story about his daily life at Battle Abbey in 1538, the history of the monastery and the disruption and terror of the Dissolution. Lucas Hall 7.30 for 8.00 pm. Drinks and snacks on offer. Price £11.50 with a cheque made out to Wealden Rural Interests Group and sent to Robin Evamy, The Lodge, Buckham Hill, Uckfield TN22 5XZ.

25th January Tuesday
Burns Night Dinner The Star Inn. Special 3-course menu and coffee. Includes Haggis and bashed neeps or Shetland Salmon in a herb crust. £23.50 pp.


16th February Wednesday and weekly thereafter
Zumba class at the Lucas Hall,  6.15 pm – 7.30 pm,  £4.50 per session. The latest dance/exercise craze, easy to follow and calory-burning. Contact Annalee Clarke on 07736 831934 for more details.

Spring Craft and Gift Fair in Heathfield Community Centre in support of DEMELZA Children's Hospice.


Offering lots and lots of exciting and unique handcrafted items, from stunning silver jewellery to dog accessories, childrens toys and clothing, to hand made gifts, soaps and floral arrangements. Treats and gifts for everyone along with refreshments, a charity raffle and a childrens arts & crafts corner where children make use their creative talents to create their own mini masterpiece to take away, free of charge.


Entry is free for all.


The event runs from 10-4pm and there is plenty of free parking too!

1st October Saturday
Barn Dance and Harvest Supper.  All Saints', Waldron & St. Bartholomew's, Cross in Hand are organising this event to be held at Dower House Farm, Blackboys TN22 5HJ. Starting at 7.00pm
The band is booked:~ The Flaming Grate Ceilidh Band.

Suitable food will be served and their will be a simple licensed bar.
Whilst organised by the churches, this event is open at everybody that enjoys a 'Good Night Out!' More details will follow.

Quiz Night + ploughmans Teams of 6. A Friends of Waldron Churches event. Cross in Hand School Hall , Sheepsetting Lane .  Come at 6.30 pm for a light ploughman’s supper before
the Quiz starts at 7.30 pm.

Tickets are £7.50, with Friends of Waldron Churches being charged a discounted price of £6.75. The ticket price includes your plough-man’s supper and the Quiz.

Make up teams of six with your own friends or come along on your own and we’ll put you with some others to make a team of six.

Waldron Festival of Wine & Food

Waldron's Annual Festival of Wine and Food, hosted by Martlet Wines of Heathfield.


As well as a wide array of wines to taste, Martlet Wines are being joined by the specialise food retailer, Jason's of Mayfield, Waldron and Heathfield; the newly formed "Sussex Chocolate Company" and 'Dordesign', individual designed Christmas and greeting's cards. There is plenty of car parking and those visiting will be given a warm welcome. This is one of those events that makes the 'build-up' to Christmas acceptable. It is civilised and hassle free!
